The Moraine State Park Bike Trial

A resident of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, Andrew “Andy” Schry has led Culligan Water in nearby Ellwood City since 1991. When he isn’t working, Andrew Schry is an avid cyclist.

Less than 20 minutes away from Ellwood City by car, Moraine State Park contains verdant forests, rolling hills, and a large section of Lake Arthur. In addition to hikers and boaters, the park attracts large numbers of bikers each year.

Although Moraine State Park has other trails that cater specifically to mountain bikers, its multiuse paved trail (generally known as the Moraine State Park Bike Trial) can support all types of cycling traffic. An out-and-back trail, it covers roughly 7.3 miles from Moraine State Park’s bicycle rental facility near its northwest boarder to the Davis Hollow Marina on Lake Arthur’s shoreline.

The majority of the Moraine State Park Bike Trail runs along the northern edge of Lake Arthur and offers frequent lakeside views. Cyclists also pass through beautiful stretches of dense trees and geographical features such as Nealey's Point and Lakeview Beach.
